NURTURING KIDS AND TEENS OF ALL AGES, WITH ALL INTERESTS

We offer before-school, lunchtime, after-school, and elective programs and services that empower youth to excel in school, become good citizens, and lead healthy, productive lives. Our offerings are designed to meet the developmental needs of kids and teens of all ages, with a focus on engagement, empowerment, and inspiration.

We continue to introduce and enhance our services to position youth for success; expand access via new partnerships, initiatives, and school sites; and focus on areas of high need, such as health/mental wellness, STEM/STEAM, workforce training, and college readiness.

OUR PROGRAMS/SERVICES

We serve over 7,000 youth annually at two clubhouses and 16 school sites in New Rochelle, Larchmont/Mamaroneck, and Ossining

Before-Care Program

(Select locations, 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.)
BGCNR offers parents and caregivers supervised early drop-off at select school locations. We offer low-yield activities and a relaxed atmosphere to help children prepare for the school day and adhere to safety guidelines provided by each school district.

After School Program

(Five or three days/week, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.)
Students in grades K through 12 benefit from activities focused on five core areas of personal development – character and leadership development; education and career development; health and life skills; the arts; and sports, fitness, and recreation. 

Electives Program

(Select locations, 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.)
We provide students with elective programming during eight week fall and winter sessions at various school sites. These courses provide students with opportunities to explore topics of interest, such as  STEM, coding, sewing, music, art, and basketball. 

Recess To Reset

(Three days/week, lunch recess at New Rochelle middle schools)
A collaborative initiative with the City of New Rochelle School District, Recess to Reset offers students enrichment and support activities focused on social/emotional learning. It builds skills to effectively navigate stress and social interactions, while fostering strong academic achievment and building resilience.

21st Century Program

(Monday to Friday, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Rochelle middle and high schools)
This comprehensive initiative provides students with a wide range of enrichment activities, workforce readiness opportunities, and academic support that enhance their overall educational experience, and build skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the modern world.

CAREER LAUNCH

Paired with diplomas2Degrees and Keystone Club, Career Launch introduces teens to the world of work and provides tools and networking opportunities to help pave career paths.

PASSPORT TO MANHOOD

Passport to Manhood represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior. Each participant receives a “passport” to emphasize he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth.

DIPLOMAS TO DEGREES

Diplomas to Degrees is a college readiness program that provides a range of services to guide youth as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success.

POWER HOUR

Power Hour: Making Minutes Count helps kids and teens achieve academic success via homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities and by encouraging them to become self-directed learners.

DRAMA MATTERS AFTERSCHOOL

Drama Matters Afterschool encourages members ages 6 through 18 to engage in hands-on performing arts activities to build self-confidence, spark creativity, and boosts academic achievement.

SMART GIRLS

SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education, and self-esteem enhancement program that addresses the developmental needs of girls in three age groups, spanning ages 8 through 18.

KEYSTONE CLUB

The ultimate Boys & Girls Club teen program, Keystone Club provides leadership development opportunities for young people ages 14 through 18. Youth participate in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service.

TORCH CLUB

Torch Club is a chartered, small group character and leadership group for boys and girls ages 11 through 13. It's a "club within the club" that helps to meet their unique character-development need and creates a firm foundation of good character and integrity.

LAW CLUB

A partnership between the New Rochelle Bar Association and Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle, Law Club introduces youth to the legal profession through meaningful interactions with local lawyers and experiences in the New Rochelle court system.

TRIPLE PLAY

Triple Play is a dynamic wellness program that helps youth create opportunities to take charge of their personal health and wellness. It promotes the importance of physical activity and proper nutrition through three components: body, mind, and soul.

LYRICISM 101

Lyricism 101 is a program designed to cultivate and amplify the powerful, formidable voices of club teens. Recognizing the power of the literary arts, Lyricism 101 positions members as torchbearers and experts in the ancient oral poetic traditions that continue to thrive around the world.

YOUTH OF THE YEAR

Youth of the Year is a comprehensive leadership development program that builds skills such as communication, teamwork, and goal-setting. Each year, one exceptional club member is selected to be our Youth of the Year, serving as an ambassador for fellow club members and a voice for all locas young people. This individual exemplifies our mission and the impact our club makes in transforming kids’ lives.
